- Pineapple grows on a plant called… pineapple.
- Peanuts grow on the peanut plant (which has the particularity of burying its fruits after fertilization).
- Chayote (or christophine) fruit grows on a plant from the cucurbit family of the same name.
- Quince thrives on a quince tree.
- Dates benefit from the date palm.
- Durian grows on the tree also called durian.
