We decided to make the game even better by
drawing healthy foods, flowers, and other natural
things on the grids, instead of numbers. Draw
a
typical American hopscotch grid shaped like
the one Sal Amander and his Foot Patrol friend
are playing on. Instead of numbers, use colored
chalk to draw the garden friends and foe, below,
in the spaces of the grid.
Garden Friends
Pumpkin
Carrot
Apple
Strawberry
Tree
Rose
Tulip
Sunflower
Ladybug
Aphid (draw the aphid in the big space)

How to play: This
version is played the regular way, but the object
is to squash the aphid by jumping on it with BOTH
feet! If you forget to use both feet, you
lose your turn.
To make the game more challenging, hop through
the grid without stepping on the drawings (except
the aphid). You don't want to squash the friendly
things, after all!

Fast
fact: Hopscotch
is called marelles in France, templehupfen
in Germany, hinkelbann in the Netherlands,
ekaria dukaria in India, pico in
Vietnam, and rayuela in Argentina
