Who is Who? On the right, you’ll find descriptions of different kinds of farming methods. See if you can figure out which farmer—Farmer C (conventional), or Farmer O/R (Organic/Regenerative), uses which technique? Can you tell if it is an organic /regenerative, or a conventional farming method?

Organic/Regenerative Farming or Conventional Farming? Farmer C Farmer O/R "I use a system called mono-cropping or continuous cropping, which means that I plant the same crops year after year. That way I don't have to reset my irrigation systems, and my workers don't have to learn how to plant and harvest new crops each year." Answer "I like to rotate my crops from one field to the other. It keeps the insects guessing!" Answer "I paid a lot of money for my cows, and need them to produce as much milk as possible. I give them synthetic growth hormones (RBGH) to stimulate their mammary glands into making more milk." Answer "I use a process called pheromone mating disruption—spraying female insect "love" hormones—in my apple orchard. It tricks the male insects into looking for a "wife", instead of my apples!" Answer "I can't have a bunch of sick chickens on my hands, so I make sure they are given antibiotics to fight off disease and infections." Answer
