Farmer Phil—On one hand, there are conventional farmers and scientists who swear by the benefits of using synthetic chemicals, growth hormones, and—the newest thing—genetically modified organisms (GMOs) to produce better crops. These methods can be very harmful to our health and the health of the environment because they rob the soil of nutrients, make our food less nutritious, and introduce our bodies with untested organisms.
